As far as City Council action on the development, on February 4, City Council voted to table the discussion regarding a resolution on the City’s acceptance of a petition for full-purpose annexation. A petition is a request from an applicant, directed to the city, seeking to engage in discussions and consideration of annexation. Upon receipt of the petition, a resolution is presented to Council, which outlines the dates, times and place for a public hearing, authorizes the publication of the notice for the public hearing and directs the City Manager (or his designee) to engage in the composition of a service plan for the proposed project. The resolution in this case is not to approve or deny annexation of land, but instead to commence in discussions regarding the petition for annexation.
