BUDA, TX - August 19, 2019 - The City of Buda is pleased to announce that our new Municipal Complex is a finalist for an Urban Land Institute (ULI) Impact Award. The ULI recognizes and celebrates projects that achieve excellence in land use practice.
Construction on the City of Buda Municipal Complex was completed in 2018 and it opened to the public in the summer of 2018. The 55,000 square foot facility includes City Administrative Offices, City Council Chambers, the Economic Development Corporation office, community multi-purpose space, and an Emergency Operations Center.
“The City of Buda is honored to be a finalist for an Urban Land Institute Award for our Municipal Complex,” said City Manager Kenneth Williams. “The City Hall and Library was constructed with our citizens in mind. Between the library and multi-purpose meeting space, about 40% of the building is public space. In the year since the building opened, it truly has become a community space. Citizens visit the library, sit and read in the lobby, and utilize the various meeting spaces the facility has to offer.”
Architect firm Page and general contractor JE Dunn lead the project design and construction.
“Our goal as the City of Buda’s construction partner on the new Municipal Complex/Library, Police Station and Parks and Maintenance Building was to build inspiring places for the community and create a great experience for everyone involved,” said Jason Beiter, VP, Project Executive, JE Dunn Construction. “JE Dunn was honored to play a role in these impactful projects and bring to life Buda’s vision for the future.”
The award winners will be announced on August 27, 2019.
