Checking out books at the library has never been easier! The Buda Public Library has acquired two new self-check stations for library guests to check out materials faster and easier.
“We’re very excited for our library guests to be able to use these new self-check stations and to be able to pay fines with credit cards,” said Library Director Melinda Hodges.
To use the stations, library patrons will scan their library card and put in their phone number or password before scanning items. It’s quick and easy!
The stations are connected to the library’s circulation system and have a barcode and RFID (radio frequency identification) readers for library goers to easily scan items by placing them on top of the scanner.
Have overdue fines? Library guests will also be able to pay fines over $5 with credit cards. Lost items can also be paid for with credit cards. When checking out DVDs, the library would like guests to check with the circulation desk for actual discs.
