FREEZE WARNING: A freeze warning is in effect until 11 AM Tuesday.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE: It is likely that ALL of South Central Texas will see a freeze on Monday night into Tuesday morning. A hard freeze is expected for the majority of the region, with temperatures below 30 degrees and sub freezing temperatures possible for 10 to 18 consecutive hours. Also, breezy north winds will make it feel colder. Wind chill values will drop into the teens and twenties across the region. Care will need to be taken to protect plants, pipes, those people outdoors or without heat, and pets. This upcoming freeze could damage fruit trees and other sensitive vegetation and early season gardens that might have already responded to the mild temperature trends over the past few weeks. Protect any exposed water pipes and ensure your heating system is in good working order.
