The new municipal building is expected to be finished by late April. Our crew is in the final phase of construction.
“They are working on landscaping on the south side of the building. That will continue through to the end of the project," said Project Manager Ray Creswell. “There is also landscaping beginning in the parking lot islands. The pedestrian bridge landscaping will begin probably within the next week or so.”
Inside, the crew is putting the final touches on the building.
“On the city hall area they are finishing up with the punch items. In the lobby area, the concrete floor will get a final polishing. The customer counters are currently being installed and the glass will be installed on the customer service counters within the next two weeks.”
The multi-purpose room and emergency operations center are complete, along with the administrative offices on the second floor.
“In the city council chambers they are working on the dais installation, along with the final finishes.”
Our new library is approximately 25,000 square feet. The existing library 5,200 square feet.
“In the library they are beginning to lay carpet. All the ceiling elements are in and the lighting is in. Cleanup of the overall space has been done. Final finishes will be started this week.”
City staff will move in to the new building at the end of May.
