GREEN MEADOWS PARK SPLASHPAD CONSTRUCTION TO START IN MID-MARCH
CITY COUNCIL APPROVES CONTRACT WITH VORTEX, INC. FOR SPLASH PAD EQUIPMENT/INSTALLATION
We all know Texas summers can be hot, humid, and uncomfortable. This summer there will be a place to cool down at Green Meadows Park. Buda City Council recently approved a contract with Vortex, Inc. for the purchase and installation of a splashpad at Green Meadows Park.
Construction of the splashpad is slated to begin in mid-March and will take approximately four to five weeks to complete. Weather permitting, we hope to have it ready for the public by June.
Highlights of the new splashpad:
- Contains over 19 spray features including: water tunnels, directional spray jets, geysers, side winder, and other large amenities.
- 1,400 Square Feet
- Water is treated with chlorine and also UV in the filtering systems to ensure clean water supply.
- System is only operational when user activated through a push button system. Staff has the control over setting operational hours and features to ensure efficient use of utility costs.
- Restroom will be constructed on site
The splashpad is being constructed as part of the Proposition 5 Parks and Trails Improvements. Prop 5 is part of a $55 million bond approved by voters in November of 2014.
The splashpad will cost approximately $359,000.
