Below is some useful information on how to read your water meter.

We've provided some tips below for conserving water and lowering your City of Buda water bill:
- Audit your irrigation system. Have a licensed irrigator evaluate your system for leaks and to adjust sprayer heads.
- Ensure your lawn is receiving the proper amount of water. Most lawns, depending on the type of grass, only need to be watered once or twice a week. Make sure your zones are set to water an appropriate amount of time, and remember not to water during the day when water is lost due to evaporation.
- If your system has a rain sensor, use it! Rain sensors automatically adjust your water settings based on rainfall so that you are not accidentally watering during a rain storm.
- Learn how to read your water meter. The image below has tips and other information on how to read your meter and your bill. If you are unsure of how much water your irrigation system uses each time it runs, go outside and write down the reading on your meter on an evening before it is set to run. The next morning, check to see how much water was used.
