With each week that passes, the Municipal Complex gets closer to completion. City Hall is coming together nicely.
“The roof deck for the lower level has been installed. We’ll start the decking for the second floor for the City Hall and then the roof area for that shortly after,” said Project Manager Ray Creswell.
The steel for the library will arrive at the end of this week, but we’re still a few weeks away from it being erected. Steel for the public space has arrived.
Meanwhile, the head wall for the pedestrian bridge has been finished. The bridge will connect the parking lot to the building.
Work also continues on the Public Safety Building.
"They’re starting on the roofing itself and then they’ll start installing the exterior sheathing. The material is now sitting out there in front of the Public Safety Building."
Crews are starting to work on the police department parking lot.
"They are starting to lay out the Public Safety Building parking lot, the islands and the curb lines. They should start pouring the curbs later this week."
Despite the rain we’ve seen over the last week, crews have been able to make progress.
"Actually I was totally surprised with the amount of rain that we had Sunday evening, there has been very little slowing down," said Creswell. "The steel erectors were not able to get to the site due to the mud, but that was only a slight delay on the steel."
