Winter Weather Causes Broken Branches Throughout Buda
Clean Up Efforts and What Home/Property Owners Can Do
BUDA, TEXAS – Broken branches, caused by icing from the winter weather event Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, have fallen at parks, trails, other public spaces, along the side of roadways and at private residences throughout Buda.
Residents and visitors are asked to avoid going into Buda parks, walking under any tree canopies, and vehicle travel on Old Black Colony Road as it has a lot of downed trees and branches. City crews will be working to clean up tree debris on City streets and public areas.
Private home and property owners are encouraged to take advantage of TDS opportunities for debris removal. Buda residents may take up to 5 cubic yards of material to the landfill each month at no cost. Green waste is available for tree trimmings, yard clippings, leaves, branches, and brush. Pick up is limited to 10 paper lawn bags and/or bundles of brush. Green waste material is composted or mulched at the Texas Disposal Systems facility. Residents receive one free bulky or large brush pickup per quarter. Scheduling must be made by contacting TDS Customer Care at 800-375-8375 or customercare@texasdisposal.com. Bulky pick up is limited to 3 cubic yards of material. Bundles must be no longer than 4 feet and weigh no more than 35 pounds.
