Downtown Parking Survey Paves Way for
Buda’s Parking Action Plan
BUDA, TEXAS – The City of Buda requests citizens’ participation in a Downtown Buda Parking Study in order to begin preparing a “Parking Action Plan.” The survey, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is available online at downtownbuda.com/parking, closes Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021.
Targeting the area from north to Nighthawk Lane, Buda Amphitheater and City Park, west to Buda Elementary Lower Campus on FM 967 and Barton Crossing FM 2770, east to Cedar Street and south to Buda Mill and Grain Co., the survey’s questions solicit information about community demographics, parking perceptions, parking needs and feedback for incorporation into overall recommendations of the Parking Action Plan. The online survey format is intended to help maximize stakeholder participation and is tailored to obtain feedback from neighborhoods near downtown, employees, business and property owners, as well as visitors to downtown and Buda’s parks.
The City of Buda has engaged Dixon Resources Unlimited for consulting services on its Parking Action Plan project. The firm has more than 30 years of parking and transportation management experience.
Addressing Buda’s specific parking challenges, the city’s planning officials say that the Parking Action Plan ultimately will identify the policies, procedures, and parking management strategies necessary to address Buda’s current and future parking needs, including special event impacts.
The City of Buda is home to nearly 19,000 residents and has earned designations as a “Texas Main Street City” and “Tree City USA.” With a vision of providing services that contribute to excellent quality of life for the citizens of Buda and a mission of meeting the needs of its citizens, Buda is situated along the Interstate 35 corridor, has 14 parks and a historic downtown district where residents and visitors alike can shop, dine, relax and breathe easy here.
