BUDA, TEXAS — Installation of various park enhancements are underway at the City of Buda’s Bradfield Park and Summer Pointe Park. City crews, including the Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments, and contractors are conducting the work.
Workers are installing a replacement playground that includes a playscape and new wood-fiber surfacing, an oodle swing and two new restrooms with a connecting water fountain.
More extensive enhancements are being made at Summer Pointe. The park will have a full-sized basketball court with sports surfacing complete with regulation lines. The court will have two 10-foot-tall basketball hoops, one eight-foot-tall basketball hoop and a bench. Plans also include a new playground with Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant features. The playscape surface will be comprised of engineered wood fiber. There also will be a dual zipline, a swing set bay with four swings and a friendship swing and a new 20-foot by 20-foot, covered pavilion with picnic tables. Two new restrooms with a connecting water fountain are being installed as well.
“We are happy to get these park improvements underway so that our children and families can better enjoy the outdoors,” Greg Olmer, CPRP, director of Buda’s Parks and Recreation Department said. “These enhancements help us fulfill the City’s vision of contributing to an excellent quality of life for the citizens of Buda.”
