The City of Buda kicked off Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) with a proclamation honoring staff at the May 4, 2021 Buda City Council meeting.
Celebrated since 1985, PSRW is a nationwide public education campaign honoring the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Each year the President and Congress designate the first full week of May (May 2–8, 2021) as PSRW in honor of public employees who put service above self.
“Service to others is the hallmark of the City of Buda’s character,” said Vicki Fuchs, Human Resources Director for the City of Buda. “Buda residents are served every day by our employees who are committed to exhibiting the highest standards of professionalism, excellence, creativity, skill and customer service.”
On Tuesday, May 4, Mayor Pro Tem Evan Ture, and the Buda City Councilmembers proclaimed May 2 – 8, 2021 as Public Service Recognition Week with several employees in attendance to receive the honor. In addition to the proclamation, the City of Buda hosted an employee appreciation cookout at Buda Amphitheater and City Park on Wednesday, May 5.
