Resources for those in need during freezing weather
Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County Office of Emergency Management has compiled a list of resources that may be helpful to county residents during this week’s bitter cold weather in Central Texas.
First and foremost, officials strongly urge everyone to stay home and off the roadways, which may be slick with ice particularly on bridges and overpasses. Portions of Hays County may have worse road conditions as there was some precipitation overnight in several areas.
For those experiencing homelessness, several local organizations may be able to assist those in need of warmth and shelter. If you know/see anyone who may need this type of assistance, please call in advance to see if they can accommodate requests.
