Governor Greg Abbott gave an update today (Aug. 4, 2020) on the supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He spoke from the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) Warehouse in San Antonio. As of today, Governor Abbott says TDEM has abundant supplies of PPE to provide to testing sites, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, etc. Abbott added TDEM will ensure there is an adequate supply of PPE for physical school openings across Texas and for the upcoming flu season.
As of today, TDEM has distributed more than 130 million masks, more than 33 million gloves, more than 7 million gowns, and more than 4 million face shields across Texas.
More than 59 million masks, more than 567-thousand gallons of hand sanitizer, more than 24-thousand thermometers, and more than 511-thousand face shields have been distributed to schools across Texas. #BudaTX
