The John D. and Byrd Mims Garison Memorial Park is a nature lovers paradise. Starting July 20th, you will be able to explore the natural trails at the park by making a reservation through the Parks and Recreation Department. The reservation system will help us limit the amount of people in the park and help us enforce social distancing. Garison Park borders City Park and is made up of approximately 40 acres of parkland. The long-term goal is to develop the park into something comparable to the Wimberley Blue Hole Park. A preliminary design for the park includes parking areas, trails, separate water access areas for swimming, fishing and a canoe/kayak dock area. Other amenities include prairie restoration, wildlife viewing areas and construction of a nature center. In addition, there are plans to connect Garison Park with City Park and Stagecoach Park through a trail system. Please enjoy the virtual tour below!
