Phase 1 of Governor Abbott’s Open Texas plan begins Friday, May 1. Under the plan, restaurants and retail stores can re-open with 25% of maximum occupancy. Gyms, bars, hair salons, spas and similar businesses are not allowed to reopen under Phase 1.
The City of Buda will continue operating virtually. Citizens can utilize city services online or by phone. The Buda Public Library is conducting services online, by phone, and doing curbside service on Mondays and Thursdays. You can find more information at www.budalibrary.org.
Governor Abbott has also issued minimum health protocols for customers to follow. These include self-screening and staying home if you have any symptoms consistent with COVID-19. These protocols also require washing your hands or using hand sanitizer upon entering a business, interacting with employees, touching items, and paying for your purchase.
The CDC strongly recommends that people continue practicing social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet separation from anyone outside of your household, avoiding large crowds, wearing a cloth mask or face covering whenever you are in public, washing hands frequently and regularly disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. Vulnerable individuals, including anyone over the age of 65, are urged to continue to stay at home as much as possible.
You can read the protocols for consumers online at Gov.Texas.Gov/OpenTexas.
