Buda's Legislative Priorities
88th Legislative Session [Jan. 10 - May 29, 2023]
The City of Buda also is a member of and works closely with the Texas Municipal League (TML) on legislative issues. However, priorities in the City of Buda’s legislative agenda were identified through input from City of Buda staff, discussion with the City’s legislative consultants and other professional organizations, and from input provided by Buda's City Council. The City of Buda has identified 14 legislative priorities, including "other issues," for which its staff and consultants will be advocating during the 88th Legislative Session. Interested parties may view these issues in Buda's 2023 Legislative Priorities booklet. Each of these legislative considerations support or align with the City's goals of: 1.) balanced and managed growth; 2.) improved mobility; 3.) exceptional city services with a low tax rate; 4.) a charming downtown that is quaint and lively; and 5.) fun experiences for all outdoor capital of Texas -- all of which are included in the City's 15-Year Strategic Plan.
